An interesting international name is reportedly backstage at tonight’s AEW/ROH tapings.
Former World of Stardom Champion Utami Hayashishita has spent the past week in the United States, competing on three GCW shows and earning victories over Billie Starkz, Janai Kai, and LuFisto, although it now appears as though her US excursion isn’t over just yet.
Fightful Select are now reporting that Hayashishita is in Calgary, Alberta, Canada ahead of AEW’s Collision, Battle of the Belts, and ROH taping, with the current belief being that a match for Ring of Honor is the most likely outcome.
“Fightful Select has confirmed that Stardom’s Utami Hayashishita is in Calgary at the site of AEW Collision, Battle of the Belts and ROH. We’ve learned that she’s scheduled to work a match at the tapings, but haven’t learned which one. With a lot of Collision and Battle of the Belts already announced, it’s likely Ring of Honor.”

Utami was recently photographed at the New Hart Dungeon in Florida training alongside WWE’s Natalya and fellow former World of Stardom Champion IYO SKY.
Despite AEW holding two joint pay-per-view events with Bushiroad-owned New Japan Pro Wrestling over the past two years, they’re yet to open the “forbidden door” between themselves and World Wonder Ring Stardom, and thus it’ll be interesting to see whether more comes from this appearance, with many fans hopeful for Stardom involvement at future Forbidden Door events.
