Two of WWE’s most iconic stars could be set to be involved next weekend at WrestleMania 40.

With WrestleMania 40 just over a week away, excitement is rapidly building for WWE’s biggest event of the year, and as is often the case, that includes the possibility of several legendary figures from the past popping up over the two-night spectacle.

Last week’s edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that Stone Cold Steve Austin is believed to be in the plans for the event, and per a new report from PWInsiderElite.com, WWE sources are said to have confirmed that discussions have at least taken place regarding this possibility.

“WWE sources confirmed that the company made an overture for Steve Austin to be involved over Wrestlemania 40 weekend. There was no word on the role or whether it would be something beyond appearing at Wrestlemania itself, but we can confirm there were at least some discussions.”

Additionally, the report notes that there has been talk over the last few weeks that WWE are also working on having Hulk Hogan involved at WrestleMania 40 in some capacity, although what this would entail is yet to be revealed.

The aforementioned report from the Observer also revealed that both The Undertaker and John Cena are also believed to be set for involvement at the event, and thus, it appears as though WrestleMania 40 is shaping up to be a can’t-miss show.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the possibility of Steve Austin and Hulk Hogan appearing at WrestleMania 40 as soon as we hear more.
