STARDOM

STARDOM’s annual major December Korakuen Hall named “Year-End Climax” happened on Sunday just five days away from Dream Queendom in the Sumo Hall that is main evented by Maika vs. Suzu Suzuki for the World Of Stardom Championship. Unlike years ago, STARDOM’s final Korakuen Hall show of the year isn’t special anymore. It featured 7 matches, including a preview match in the co-main event, a Twelve Women Elimination match between Oedo Tai & Queen’s Quest happened as a preview to the upcoming Goddess Of Stardom Championship match, with the Queen’s Quest team winning after Kamitani eliminated Momo Watanabe at the end of the match.

The main event was a preview match for the three Singles Championship matches at Dream Queendom. Suzu Suzuki, Saori Anou, and Megan Bayne defeated Maika, MIRAI, and Giulia when Megan pinned Giulia, her opponent on the 29th, with the F5 just days from their NJPW Strong Women’s Championship match. After the match, all six Wrestlers held a promo to build up their Championship matches.

But the interesting part here was that Syuri called out Mayu Iwatani after the match, and challenged her to an IWGP Women’s Championship match on the January 4th Tokyo Dome City Hall show. Syuri leads the singles record with 2-1. In their last match, Syuri defeated and eliminated Iwatani in the 5STAR Grand Prix and will now try to win the IWGP Women’s Title from Iwatani.

Pro Wrestling WAVE

Kizuna Tanaka & Honoka are the NEW WAVE Tag Team Champions after defeating Risa Sera & SAKI in one of the biggest upsets of the year. The new Champions made their debut in April this year this is only the third win for the two Rookies as a tag team. Kizuna stated before the match that winning her WAVE Tag Championships has been a dream for over 8 years, and now she was able to achieve that in her first try together with her “Harmonie” Partner Honoka. It’s the first Championship in the young career of the two, and a deserved one.

In the main event, Yuki Miyazaki defeated VENY to win the Regina di WAVE Championship for the first time in a violent match. Miyazaki has been part of WAVE since their first show in 2007, and it took her 16 years and multiple tries to finally reach the top of her promotion. VENY, who defeated former AEW Women’s Champion Hikaru Shida for the belt, drops the title without a single successful defense. After the match, it was announced that Haruka Umesaki is the winner of the Zan1, which is a popular voting, and will challenge Miyazaki on the February 4 Korakuen Hall show. It’s a showdown between the Regina di WAVE and WWWD World Champion.

Evolution Joshi

The Evolution Joshi is a project of AJPW’s Suwama & Shuji Ishikawa, where they train Joshi wrestlers and let them wrestle against all kinds of top Joshi Wrestlers from the scene. The first three trainees were Chi Chi, ZONES, and Sunny, who already retired due to injury, but still works behind the scenes.

On the next show, a new Rookie will debut named “Soi”. In Tokyo Sports, it was revealed that the new trainee joined because she is a huge Nagata fan and saw him winning the Triple Crown Championship in AJPW in February of this year. By discovering AJPW through Nagata, she found out about the Evo Joshi project and reached out to Ishikawa & Suwama to join the training in May. On January 28, she will make her Pro Wrestling debut against Itsuki Aoki in a singles match. On the same show, Nanae Takahashi will collide with ZONES and Chi Chi will team up with Honoka to face Riara & YuuRI.
