Genichiro Tenryu has unveiled the 16 men who will take part in Tenryu Projects’ upcoming Ryūkon Cup, which is set to take place over one show on November 21.

The annual single elimination tournament will feature some of the best and brightest regulars from the indie, as well as some of the most prominent outsiders from other companies like Dragon Gate, Big Japan, and Sportiva.

The Ryūkon Cup has been running every year in Tenryu Project since 2021. The winner this year will take home 500 thousand yen, or around 3200 dollars.

Of the 16, five of them will be going into their six tournament. Those men are Kenichiro Arai, Kohei Sato, Masayuki Kono, SUSHI, and Kazumasa Yoshida. Of these men, none have ever won the tournament.

One man is appearing for the fifth time, that being 2022 winner Keita Yano. Not only has Yano won before, but he was also a finalist in 2021 and 2023. There’s one other former tournament winner in this field, that being 2024 champion Hideyoshi Kamitani, who’s appearing in his third.

The rest of the field returning to the Ryūkon are Mizuki Watase (5th appearance), the son of the legend Shinya Hashimoto, Daichi Hashimoto (3rd), Koji Iwamoto (3rd), Takuro Niki (3rd), and Ayumu Honda (2nd).

Joining these veterans are four first timers; the all time great Masaaki Mochizuki, Van Vert Jack, Ali Najima, and Satsuki Nagao.
