According to The Rock on January 23, he and WWE are ‘figuring out’ The Great One vs The Tribal Chief.

Last Saturday, Cody Rhodes emerged victorious in the Men’s Royal Rumble match and earned the right to challenge either Seth Rollins or Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. Though, despite The Visionary’s attempt to influence the decision this past Monday on Raw, many fans presume that The American Nightmare will look to oppose The Tribal Chief in April. Yet, there were still those wanting to see The Rock face off with Reigns, and many are wondering whether this plan has been disregarded.

But, speaking to Will Cain of Fox News prior to the Royal Rumble, The Rock maintained the idea that the match with Roman is a possibility, suggesting that he and WWE are still talking about the prospect and how it could take place.

“We’re talking about that right now. I like to consider myself a long-gamer and a builder. The idea of going up against Roman Reigns and creating, if we were to do something like that, quite possibly and I mean this respectfully of all the WrestleManias before…with all the success and build up of all the WrestleManias in the past, if we were to do something like that, we could possibly put on the biggest WrestleMania of all-time. Short answer and long answer is we’re figuring it out,”

As it stands, Cody Rhodes hasn’t yet officially announced his choice of champion for WrestleMania, but, if he chooses Reigns, that takes the Tribal Chief off of the table for The Rock. Ultimately, with ‘Mania 40 around 60 days away, it may be that WWE choose to stage the match at a future event, rather than in Philadelphia this April.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the prospect of Roman Reigns vs The Rock as soon as we hear more.
