While his future is still unknown, reports suggest WWE ‘expect’ Edge to go to AEW.
Two weeks ago, speculation grew as Edge admitted that his August 18 match with Sheamus on SmackDown in Toronto was the last outing on his current WWE contract. The Rated R Superstar even took to the microphone post-show to tell his hometown fans that it would likely be his last match in front of them, hinting at a retirement or move elsewhere.
While there has been no official announcement on his future, many are linking him with a switch to All Elite Wrestling, where he could link up with his longtime tag team partner Christian Cage and also compete against some of the best performers in the world.
To comment on where Edge might next appear, Dave Meltzer has written in the Wrestling Observer that those in WWE believe that Edge is likely on his way to AEW.
“Those in WWE have noted that they expect Edge to go to AEW.”

We may not have to wait long to see what Edge’s decision is, as, during the lead up to the match with Sheamus, the star confirmed that his current WWE contract expires at some point in September, so, he could be free to openly discuss his future very soon.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Edge and where he may appear next as we hear more.
