This past weekend at AEW’s Double or Nothing special, Thunder Rosa successfully defended her All Elite Wrestling Women’s Championship against Serena Deeb. Despite the match being solid, AEW’s booking of their feud meant the build up to the match left a lot to be desired.
It was recently reported by Whatculture that Thunder Rosa was unhappy with her amount of TV time on AEW since becoming Womens Champion, and also pointed to how she received no follow up on Dynamite this week after her match vs Serena Deeb. However, PWInsider reported that Rosa actually left the tapings due to her feeling ill and being sent home by a doctor. Now, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has shedded some light on the champion’s absence this week.
“There was a report that Thunder Rosa was upset at having no follow up from her win over Serena Deeb and not being on Dynamite. In actuality she had a segment on the show but left due to being ill. Several of her friends with her also were ill and all went home”

This should help to calm any fears that the Women’s Champion had been forgotten about following Double Or Nothing and suggest that there are still plans for her going forward.
