Thunder Rosa has been absent from in-ring action since the August 15, 2022 episode of AEW Dark: Elevation due to a suffering a back injury. Rosa was originally set to defend the AEW Women’s Championship against Toni Storm at that year’s All Out PPV, however she ultimately missed the show and thus vacated the title.
Speaking at the Busted Open WrestleMania Party, Rosa provided an update on her injury status, revealing that she doesn’t think she’ll be making a return to the ring anytime soon.
“That’s the question everyone asks me during the signings. Unfortunately, I wasn’t cleared and I don’t think I’m going to be cleared anytime soon. I need another MRI,”

Whilst Rosa has yet to return to the ring, she has been travelling with AEW and providing Spanish commentary for their weekly shows.
Regarding the reported heat between Rosa and several members of the women’s locker room, the situation is currently being covered on AEW All Access, with Rosa recently stating that fans will be able to hear her side of the story on the show.
