AEW Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa successfully defended her AEW Women’s Championship against Serena Deeb at this past Sunday’s Double or Nothing PPV, extending her reign that began on March 16th at St Patrick’s Day Slam where she defeated Britt Baker for the gold.
Despite last night’s AEW Dynamite featuring a number of segments focusing on the fallout following Double or Nothing, the show did not feature the AEW Women’s Champion in any capacity.
WhatCulture have now provided an exclusive update regarding Thunder Rosa’s Dynamite absence, claiming that the AEW Women’s Champion is growing increasingly frustrated by her lack of TV time.
“Unnamed sources close to the situation state that the reigning AEW Women’s World Champion has become very frustrated with how little she has been onscreen. This was exacerbated by Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite, on which Thunder Rosa received no focus despite her well-received match with Serena Deeb at Double Or Nothing 2022 (29 May).”

WhatCulture also report that the lack of follow up on last night’s Dynamite, in Rosa’s mind, made it feel like her bout with Deeb “didn’t happen at all”, although they note that this issue isn’t Rosa’s only source of frustration with AEW.
WhatCulture then touched upon Rosa’s absence from the Double or Nothing post-show media scrum, highlighting that Rosa intended to auction her ring attire in order to aid the victims of the Uvalde school shooting’s families, with her absence preventing her from promoting said auction.
WhatCulture note towards the end of their report that whilst Rosa’s frustration isn’t severe enough to the extent that the AEW Women’s Champion may walk out on the company, the situation has left her feeling “upset and confused”.
