Steve Maclin and Myla Grace have had release requests granted by TNA.

Earlier today, Fightful Select reported that former Impact World Champion Steve Maclin had his release request granted by TNA Wrestling, making him a free agent. Shortly afterwards, the company confirmed both his departure and that of another recently reported exit.

In an official statement posted to their website, TNA Wrestling confirmed that they have come to terms on the release of both Steve Maclin and Myla Grace.

“TNA Wrestling has come to terms on the release of Steve Maclin and Myla Grace, effective immediately. We wish them the best in their future endeavors.”

Following the official confirmation, Fightful Select provided additional insight into the departures of Steve Maclin and Myla Grace, claiming that TNA Wrestling did not consult either talent prior to making the public announcement.

“We’re told Maclin had hoped to keep the word of the departure quiet, but TNA issued a press release announcing it. They rarely do that, and didn’t consult Myla Grace or Maclin ahead of the decision.”

The report goes on to note that Steve Maclin had been outspoken about his frustration with the company’s creative direction dating back to last year and was among those who reportedly felt it had not improved since the move to AMC.

Another issue said to have been raised internally was the company’s pay scale, as the majority of TNA Wrestling talent are not signed to full-time salaried contracts, with many having been moved to short-term deals even after the AMC deal was secured.

Regarding the pair’s future, Fightful Select added that Steve Maclin is expected to draw interest from companies outside of TNA Wrestling, while sources within both WWE and AEW wouldn’t be surprised to see Myla Grace land in either promotion eventually.

Steve Maclin and Myla Grace may not be the only names exiting TNA Wrestling imminently, as reports also indicate that WWE are expecting to sign Mike Santana when his contract expires this summer. You can read more about that here.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the future of Steve Maclin and Myla Grace as soon as we hear more.
