Many fans have been asking for AEW to introduce Trios Titles for a long time now. They definitely would make sense as there is a lot of factions and trios in AEW.
However, it seems Tony Khan is waiting on Kenny Omega returning from injury and The Elite getting back together before introducing them.
Speaking on the Revolution Media Call, Tony Khan talked on the matter:
“It’s something there is a lot of interest in. I’ve seen that. We have a lot of great trios here. I am very interested in it, I’ll be 100% honest, this is the most-blunt answer I can give, I’m much more receptive to doing it when Kenny Omega is back because I think that is going to happen. When Kenny Omega is back, the trios division is that much stronger. We could do a great tournament now and have a great trios division, but he would make it that much stronger, and I have so much respect for him and he was such a great champion for us and we could have by far the best trios division that anybody could put together with how strong our roster is and how many trios are already together and have experience working together and I would love for Kenny Omega to be a part of it,”

There is reportedly no real set timeframe for Kenny Omega returning from injury, but many fans are hopeful it will be before Double Or Nothing at the end of May.
