Ahead of the May 16th, 2022 edition of Monday Night Raw, the then WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Sasha Banks and Naomi allegedly walked out on the company, subsequently resulting in their indefinite suspensions and their titles being vacated. Banks recently made her long-awaited return to pro-wrestling, debuting as Mercedes Moné at NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom 17 event on January 4th, however, Trinity Fatu (known in WWE as Naomi) is yet to re-emerge.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has now provided an update on Fatu’s status in pro-wrestling, reporting that the former Smackdown Women’s Champion is currently in talks with WWE over a potential return to the company, however, no agreement has been reached at the time of writing.

“Regarding Trinity Fatu returning, talks are ongoing but nothing has been signed as of midweek.”

Fatu was recently spotted in Japan alongside WWE’s Bayley, as the pair were there to show support to the former Sasha Banks, who is now set to challenge KAIRI for the IWGP Women’s Championship at NJPW’s Battle in the Valley on February 18th.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any updates on the future of Naomi as soon as we hear more.
