Bryan Danielson is definitely at the top of a lot of fans lists when fantasy booking an AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door card, but his current status for the event is up in the air right now.
Bryan Danielson reportedly picked up an injury whilst wrestling in the Anarchy In The Arena match at AEW’s Double Or Nothing PPV last month and was apparently expected to be out for a couple weeks, with the hope of him returning to in-ring action in time to take on Zack Sabre Jr, who has called him out, at Forbidden Door.
In an update from Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer notes that Bryan was still not cleared as recently as this wednesday:
“He was not cleared on Wednesday of last week”

Dave would also go on to guess that if Bryan Danielson is not on this weeks episode of Dynamite, then he’d say that its unlikely that the match vs Zack Sabre Jr will happen at all:
“He’s either going to be on the show this coming Wednesday or I would go and say it’s unlikely they’ll have the match”

There is of course a chance that Bryan Danielson could actually be cleared right now and we just don’t know as the last update was on Wednesday. Hopefully Bryan is cleared in time to make the PPV as I’m sure all fans would love to have the American Dragon featured in a big match on this show.
