After a year of working across multiple promotions with New Japan Pro Wrestling, AEW & more, Will Ospreay wants to continue wrestling talent no matter where they are signed. Ospreay recently spoke to Tokyo Sports about potential dream matches, and a few names from WWE came up.

“I’ve mentioned Seth Rollins’ name many times, and he’s approached me, so I have a lot of thoughts about it.”

As many will recall, Ospreay and WWE’s Seth Rollins got into an infamous Twitter feud in the summer of 2019 with the two comparing both bank accounts and in-ring ability. Rollins would go on to say that WWE has the best wrestling in the world before claiming that he was the best and most consistent wrestler in the world.

In the exchange, Rollins called Ospreay a “worse version of Ricochet”. Ricochet and Ospreay, of course, had an unforgettable stretch of matches in Japan and the independents before Ricochet signed with WWE in January 2018.

“Also, considering my history, I think it would be a dream come true to fight Ricochet one more time. I think we’ve both become completely different wrestlers from when we fought in the past. I think we’re at a turning point right now, and in the past I’ve talked with people from WWE about how it would be great if we could have a dream match in the future that transcends the boundaries of the organization. I don’t think it’s impossible, and I always want to test my own true ability.”

Ospreay is coming off of a victory against Tetsuya Naito at NJPW Battle Autumn and is scheduled to defend his IWGP US Title against Shota Umino at NJPW x STARDOM X-Over.
