There was reportedly no issues on Will Ospreay’s end regarding his AEW Dynamite promo.

Last night, many fans were intrigued when Will Ospreay made reference to Triple H’s comments during the week about wrestlers signing with AEW being unwilling to embark on the grind, firing back at the suggestion that he took the easier route by signing with Tony Khan. On this, it was reported by PWTorch earlier today that the idea to allude to Triple H on Dynamite wasn’t Ospreay’s idea, although that may not be entirely the case.

Per Fightful Select, it’s clarified that there were no issues with cutting the promo as far as Will Ospreay was concerned, and that he actually worked with the creative team on its content.

“Regarding the Will Ospreay promo, we’re told he was fine with cutting that promo, and there were no issues in that regard, and he actually came in to work with the creative team on the promo.”

Not only that, but it’s believed that The Aerial Assassin was willing to take things further, suggesting the inclusion of a line at CM Punk after the Chicagoan had aimed a dig at Ospreay’s All In attendance tattoo during the week. However, Will’s planned shot at Triple H coupled with The Young Bucks’ earlier segment meant that the company felt as if going ahead with the response to Punk’s comments would’ve been overkill.

“We’re told he ran the promo by several people backstage, and that at one point a shot at CM Punk was considered after Punk’s tattoo line last week. However, considering the nature of AEW Dynamite, many felt that was overkill and they decided against that.”

Ospreay began talks with WWE prior to announcing that he’d signed with AEW last November, choosing Tony Khan’s company as it allowed him to be closer to his family. Now, he’s firmly All Elite and will tick off a dream match with Bryan Danielson on April 21 at Dynasty.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Will Ospreay’s AEW Dynamite promo as soon as we hear more.
