A report has come out indicating that WWE believe Drew McIntyre will be ‘in the mix’ in the coming weeks.
On April 1, PWInsider first reported that Drew McIntyre’s WWE contract had entered its final year, with it noted that the two sides ‘aren’t even close’ to agreeing on new terms. It’s said that creative discussions are a huge factor in the Scotsman renewing his deal and, as a result the former WWE Champion hasn’t been seen on TV since his loss at WrestleMania.
To provide an update on the situation, PWInsider has released a report stating that many in WWE are anticipating McIntyre’s return to the company soon, with a potential re-emergence linked to Money in the Bank at the O2 Arena in London and the upcoming UK tour.
“WWE sources indicate there are many in the company who believe Drew McIntyre will be back “in the mix” by the UK tour and Money in the Bank.”

Whether the 38-year-old returns to WWE soon remains to be seen, with it unclear whether the sides have agreed on a contract renewal. Though, given that the company’s UK tour begins in less than a week, it’s unsurprising that WWE are attempting to ensure that one of their biggest European stars is involved.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Drew McIntyre’s contract situation and his subsequent WWE return as we hear more.
