Since Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque’s appointment as WWE’s Head of Talent Relations, the company have been increasingly aggressive on the Talent acquisition front, leading to rumours of contract tampering with AEW, as well as direct competition between WWE and AEW over free-agent signings such as Bandido.

It now appears as though we know the identity of yet another talent that both companies are hoping to sign, as Fightful Select are reporting that WWE believe Renee Paquette is AEW-bound amidst reports that they’ve reached out over a potential return to the company.

“Fightful was told by WWE sources on Friday night that they believe Renee Paquette is headed to All Elite Wrestling.”

Louis Dangoor of Give Me Sport recently reported that WWE had reached out to the former Renee Young over possibly returning to the company, although Fightful have been unable to confirm the validity of this report at the time of writing, noting that neither AEW nor Paquette herself have confirmed any deal between the two parties yet.

Renee Paquette spent nearly eight years with WWE prior to her departure in August of 2020, during which she fulfilled a number of roles, including backstage interviewer, hosting, commentator on WWE Raw, and more. Renee additionally hosted FS1’s WWE Backstage show, and has recently filmed WWE content for A&E Network specials.

Since her departure, Renee has entered the podcasting world, as she hosts The Sessions as a part of Colin Cowherd’s The Volume network. Furthermore, Renee has also recently joined the Cincinnati Bengals broadcast team for a new show entitled Renee All Dey.

Paquette’s husband, AEW World Champion Jon Moxley, recently signed a five year contract extension with AEW, and thus with his long-term future with the company secure, Moxley may be hoping to bring his wife in as a part of the team in the near future. Paquette would undoubtably be an asset to either AEW or WWE regardless of the role either company has in mind, and we certainly look forward to seeing what the future has in store for her
