Since 1995, WWE have consistently presented at least one premium live event each month with few exceptions. Occasionally, the company opt to run two premium live events in the span of a month, depending on their schedule, with it now appearing likely that May will be one of those months.

According to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, WWE are planning on running two PLEs in May, the first of which being Backlash set for Saturday, May 6th. WWE previously branded the show as WrestleMania Backlash, however according to Thurston, the WrestleMania branding is being dropped from ‘Mania’s follow-up event.

A few weeks later on May 27th, WWE will reportedly present King and Queen of the Ring, marking the first usage of the King of the Ring tournament as its own premium live event since 2002. Last year, the company held the first-ever Queen’s Crown tournament, with Zelina Vega being crowned the first winner.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any updates on WWE’s premium live event schedule as soon as we hear more. May 27th interesting happens to fall on Memorial Day weekend, a period typically dominated by AEW’s annual Double Or Nothing PPV, and thus it’ll be worth keeping an eye on how the two affect eachother.
