A major international talent is on reportedly her way back to WWE.
Former NXT Women’s Champion Kairi Sane departed WWE in December 2021 upon the expiration of her contract, with the 34-year-old making her way back to Japan as KAIRI in early 2022, where she competed primarily for her home promotion of World Wonder Ring STARDOM on top of several indie shows as a freelancer.
PWInsider are now reporting that Kairi has agreed terms with WWE for a return to the company, with the report noting that she may be back on screen imminently.
“Kairi Sane, who exited WWE in December 2021, has come to terms with WWE to return to the company. We are told that her return will be imminent, possibly as soon as this week. She and Asuka were the Kabuki Warriors together, so the smart money says that could be the direction here.”

As pointed out within the report, Kairi’s initial main roster run with the company saw her team with Asuka as The Kabuki Warriors, with the team having captured the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship in October 2019.
Asuka teased on this past Friday’s episode of SmackDown that she had an insurance policy for tonight’s three way WWE Women’s Championship match against both Bianca Belair and Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam, and thus it appears likely that Kairi could aid the champion in keeping the gold around her waist.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Kairi Sane’s WWE return as soon as we hear more.
