Randy Orton Says He May Be WrestleMania Exclusive When His WWE Contract Expires

Randy Orton is reflecting on what lies ahead for his WWE career.
On April 18, during Night One of WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas, Randy Orton came up short in his challenge against Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship in the show’s main event. Prior to the bout, Orton had been reflecting on what the future might hold for him.
Speaking to The Schmo ahead of WrestleMania 42, Randy Orton suggested that when his current WWE contract expires in four years’ time, he may transition to a schedule similar to The Undertaker in the latter stages of his career, potentially competing exclusively at WrestleMania.
“Nothing lasts forever. I just turned 46. I do have four years left on my contract, and maybe when that’s over, I’ll get the Undertaker schedule and pop around for WrestleMania every year. And then ride it until the wheels fall off, literally.”

Randy Orton’s involvement at WrestleMania 42 marked his 21st appearance at WrestleMania, meaning ‘The Viper’ now holds the third-most appearances in the event’s history behind only Triple H and The Undertaker.
Following the defeat to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 42, Pat McAfee appears to be stepping away from professional wrestling for now. However, after Randy Orton dropped Rhodes with a punt kick following the match, it seems unlikely we’ve seen the final encounter between the former Legacy stablemates.
