Reported Feeling Within WWE That Kairi Sane Could Appear At Backlash

Kairi Sane could reportedly finish her storyline with Asuka and IYO SKY at Backlash.

On April 24, it emerged that Kairi Sane had departed WWE as part of the latest round of talent cuts. While it often appears as if no one is truly safe from being let go, fans were stunned at the company releasing ‘The Pirate Princess’ while she was playing a crucial role in the storyline between IYO SKY and Asuka. However, with their match set for Backlash this Saturday, there’s reportedly a chance Sane could appear.

According to an update from Bryan Alvarez, it’s believed within WWE there is a ‘better than 50% chance’ that Kairi Sane is at Backlash to finish off the storyline.

“Within WWE, it’s felt there is a better than 50% chance that Kairi shows up at Backlash to at least finish off that storyline,”

Following her release, a section of fans online began using #WeWantKairi to show their unhappiness at WWE’s decision to let her go, with some crowds even chanting for the former Women’s Tag Team Champion during segments between SKY and Asuka heading into Backlash. For now, though, whether the company allow her to return, even just to tie up loose ends with regard to her storyline, remains to be seen.
