Blake Monroe Says She Wants To Be Part Of The John Cena Classic

Blake Monroe would like to be in the John Cena Classic.

At last Saturday’s Backlash, John Cena announced the ‘John Cena Classic’ in which wrestlers will compete to earn the respect of the fans in order to win a vote to be crowned the champion. While the details aren’t yet ironed out, the 17-time champion eluded to the idea that main roster stars could be set to battle NXT talent much like what happened at his retirement show in December. Now, a former Women’s North American Champion has expressed interest in taking part.

Speaking with Marca, Blake Monroe said she’d like to be part of the John Cena Classic, citing names like Kendal Grey and Tatum Paxley as people she’d want to face.

“Of course I want to be a part of it. It looks like it’s going to be a huge tournament, and obviously, you need to headline it with a huge name like ‘The Glamour’ Blake Monroe. As for who I’d like to face, I just escaped the women of NXT. They were tormenting me. But we have so much talent. I would love to face Tatum [Paxley] again because we have unfinished business after she put me in a coffin. There’s also Kendal Grey, along with a lot of new European additions. I would love to be involved. And if I’m not, I’ll enjoy watching it because it will be interesting to see how all these people coming from different places clash.”

As of writing, we don’t yet know when the John Cena Classic will take place, where it will be held, or who will be in it. With many coming out of Cena’s announcement confused as to what comes next, it was recently reported that WWE themselves aren’t yet sure what the event will entail. In terms of what’s next for Blake Monroe, ‘The Glamour’ was announced as the newest member of the SmackDown roster on April 25.
