MJF Says He’s ‘Pumped The Brakes’ On TNA President Carlos Silva

MJF says he’s softened his stance on Carlos Silva.
At the start of April, the advertised match between MJF and Nic Nemeth for May 1’s Create-A-Pro show was cancelled due to Carlos Silva pulling all TNA talent from bookings involving outside wrestlers, particularly those from All Elite Wrestling. At the time, the AEW star said what the TNA President was doing was ‘disgusting’, though it now appears as if MJF has now taken a step back from criticising Silva.
During an appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, MJF reflected on his stance on Carlos Silva, saying he’s pumped the brakes on the TNA President.
“He [Carlos] didn’t want AEW talent to go up against TNA talent because he thought that my boss intentionally put, I believe it was a Collision, on the same night as TNA. Even though every single year when, I believe it’s the college basketball playoffs, every single year during a specific season of the year, we get pushed to Thursdays. He thought that we intentionally asked Warner Bros. Discovery. We were preempted and he didn’t know that. So because he didn’t know that, he got offended, and then he pulled a couple of matches off. I was offended because A, you’re taking a match away from me that I was looking forward to. I was looking forward to beating the sh*t out of Nic Nemeth, formerly known as Dolph Ziggler. And B, you’re taking money out of people’s pockets. So I was a little upset, but I have been informed that this guy is getting smarter to the business. He’s fairly green, he’s fairly new, and he’s learning on the job. And I’ve been told he’s a good guy, so I’ve pumped the brakes a little bit on old Carlos Silva. He’s learning on the job.”

While it wasn’t officially announced, TNA reportedly pulled Moose from Maple Leaf Pro’s Multiverse show on April 18, with this being the first indication that Silva had had a change of heart with regard to the company’s talent working with wrestlers from elsewhere. After that, Leon Slater was also pulled from an advertised match with AEW’s Ricochet.
Elsewhere in the interview, MJF discussed whether anyone in AEW has been asked to take a pay cut during a contract after WWE reportedly offered lower salaries to some of their talent. You can read more about his comments here.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on MJF as soon as we hear more.
