FTR Reportedly Approaching Option Year Of Their AEW Contract, Believed WWE Have Preliminary Interest

FTR are reportedly nearing the option year of their AEW deals.
As one of only two teams to have held the AEW World Tag Team Championships three times, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler are true cornerstones of the company’s tag division. After almost six years with the promotion, they’ve amassed over 430 days with the gold, though a new update has now cast some doubt over their respective contract status’ with All Elite Wrestling.
According to an update from Bodyslam, it’s reported FTR are nearly the option year of their AEW deals. Interestingly, it’s noted that WWE are believed to have preliminary interest in the team.
FTR are approaching the option year of their AEW deal, having signed a four-year agreement in 2023. Sources describe FTR as believing their value and consistency should place them among AEW’s top-tier acts financially. There has also reportedly been at least preliminary interest from WWE communicated through mutual contacts as the situation draws attention internally.

FTR, known then as The Revival, picked up five tag team titles in WWE, including their two reigns on the NXT brand. However, after seeking to leave the company, the duo became one of the first to ditch RAW and SmackDown for Dynamite as All Elite Wrestling was looking to build momentum. While many may initially find it hard to imagine Dax and Cash making the move back to WWE, the story is certainly one to keep an eye on in the coming weeks and months.
At last night’s Double Or Nothing, FTR lost the AEW World Tag Team Championships to Adam Copeland and Christian Cage. This completed a trilogy of matches between the two teams, both of whom many often include among the best of all time. On that, Dax Harwood recently declared that Cope and Cage’s generation of teams didn’t have the depth FTR’s does. You can read more about that here.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on FTR’s contract status’ as soon as we hear more.
