Mike Bailey Believes Kevin Knight Could Win The AEW World Title At Redemption
“Speedball” Mike Bailey feels Kevin Knight has what it takes to be AEW World Champion.
Prior to their split in May earlier this year, JetSpeed had been a standout act in All Elite Wrestling’s tag team division since the pair joined the promotion. While Kevin Knight is now aligned with The Don Callis Family, “Speedball” Mike Bailey believes his former partner has what it takes to become the next AEW World Champion.
Appearing on TMZ’s Inside The Ring, Bailey discussed Kevin Knight’s chances of defeating AEW World Champion Kenny Omega at the upcoming Montreal-based pay-per-view. In his view, his former JetSpeed partner has a legitimate chance of becoming champion.
“I can definitely see that for him. I mean, the story of Kevin Knight is that everyone has known from the beginning that he is a star. He and I have wrestled before, and I think that our tag team was so successful because we both have World Championship aspirations and potential. I think he certainly could beat Kenny Omega because that’s the kind of talent that he has.”

Bailey’s confidence in Knight is not without reason. Kevin Knight quickly established himself in AEW, delivering standout performances against the likes of Will Ospreay, Darby Allin, and Kazuchika Okada. He also captured the TNT Championship at AEW Revolution and has since set the record for the most successful defences of the title.
That being said, many fans will be hoping Knight does not capture the title at AEW Redemption on Sunday, with Omega’s planned match against Will Ospreay at AEW All In: London at Wembley Stadium remaining a major talking point. Additionally, some believe the August event would be the ideal stage for Knight and “Speedball” Mike Bailey to revisit their rivalry in a TNT Championship match.
