Kevin Knight Sets AEW TNT Title Defence Record

Kevin Knight has set a new record with the AEW TNT Championship.
AEW Dynasty on April 12 saw Kevin Knight pin Daniel Garcia in a 10-man Casino Gauntlet match to capture the vacant AEW TNT Championship after Kyle Fletcher was forced to relinquish the title due to injury. While Knight has made it clear that his ambitions extend beyond the title, he has now made history as TNT Champion.
Last night’s episode of AEW Collision saw TNT Champion Kevin Knight defend his title against fan-favorite AR Fox. Following a thrilling encounter that ended with Knight securing the victory, he officially set the record for the most successful TNT Championship defences in a single reign with nine.
Looking at the names Kevin Knight has defended the TNT Championship against, it becomes clear that this record-setting reign has been built on a series of high-level opponents. Many of those matches have been considered contenders for match of the night, if not outright winners.
Knight’s reign will face another major test on the upcoming episode of AEW Dynamite, where he will defend the TNT Championship against former TNT Champion and AEW World Champion Darby Allin.
This will take place just days before Knight challenges Kenny Omega for the AEW World Championship at AEW Redemption in Montreal on July 26.
