TNA crowned two semifinalists in its Knockouts Television Championship tournament on Thursday’s live Impact.

The show emanated from the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on July 30, with two quarterfinal matches on the card. Indi Hartwell against Thea Hail and Jody Threat against Jada Stone were both scheduled, with each winner moving a step closer to becoming the first-ever Knockouts Television Champion.

Indi Hartwell faced Thea Hail in the first of the two. Hartwell held a clear height advantage going in, but Hail matched her with strong technical ability, and the match stayed on the mat for long stretches. Hartwell went for the Hurts Donut early and Hail fought her way out of it. From there Hail went to work on Hartwell’s left arm, targeting it with double knees and an arm ringer, coming back to it every time Hartwell tried to build momentum. When Hartwell went for a spinebuster, Hail countered into a Kimura attempt on that same arm, though Hartwell escaped the hold. The finish arrived when Hail went face first off the top turnbuckle, and Hartwell took the opening to connect with the Hurts Donut for the pinfall, with Indi Hartwell advancing to the semifinals.

Jody Threat and Jada Stone met in the second quarterfinal of the night, and Threat used her strength early, dumping Stone hard onto the apron. Stone eventually created separation with a jawbreaker, then followed with a drop toe hold into the middle turnbuckle and a 619. A split-legged moonsault earned Stone a near fall, before she then went for the Spark Stunner, but Threat countered and went for the Pop Shove It, only for Stone to work her way off Threat’s shoulders and catch her with a huge kick to the face. Threat tried to lean on her strength again in the closing moments, and Stone countered, took her shoulders to the mat and picked up the three count, with Jada Stone moving on.

Mara Sadè against Heather By Elegance is the remaining quarterfinal and takes place on next Thursday’s edition of Impact. The winner of that match will face Jada Stone in the semifinals, while Indi Hartwell will meet M By Elegance in the other semifinal.

The first round of the tournament ran across four different episodes of Impact and produced a time limit draw that eliminated two competitors. Our full breakdown of every first-round result can be found here.
