AEW Locker Room Reportedly Thrilled With Arrival Of Motor City Machine Guns
Many in the locker room are reportedly thrilled that the Motor City Machine Guns are now “All Elite”.
The legendary tag team duo made their true debut in AEW last night on Collision, which you can read about in more detail here. Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley have long been rumored for All Elite Wrestling since their release from WWE in April, and many have wanted them in the company dating back to before their debut on SmackDown in 2024. Their debut had the Masonic Temple Theater in Detroit roaring with joy, and it now seems they weren’t alone in feeling happy to see the tag team arrive.
According to PWInsider, it’s believed many in the AEW locker room were excited to see the Motor City Machine Guns debut.

MCMG have often been hailed as one of the best tag teams in the world for two decades, dominating in places like TNA, Ring of Honor, and more. While their run in WWE was short, they did win tag team gold and have standout matches when featuring on the blue brand. Now officially in AEW, many are excited to see Sabin and Shelley mix it up with the promotion’s best teams.
To further back up the report, many wrestlers have taken to social media to share their excitement over the Motor City Machine Guns appearing, including ROH Pure Champion Lee Morarity, who shared the following post on Bluesky.
Speaking of Jay White, he was a a man of few words in reacting to the Machine Guns’ arrival on his X account, but, given his aforementioned history with the duo, it’s fair to say he’d certainly be interested in squaring off with them in future.
Plus, Sabin himself posted to X about MCMG’s debut on Twitter, and he noted it was one of the best nights of their career:
Following the events of AEW Collision, it’s likely that Sabin and Shelley will be fighting off The Dogs and the Death Riders after saving the Bang Bang Gang from a post-match beatdown, but, in terms of what’s possibly to come, many are aching for them to mix it up with the Young Bucks, as they’ve had plenty of legendary matches over the years.
Plus, it’s worth noting that current speculation would point to former New Day members Austin Creed and Kofi potentially joining AEW’s tag team division, giving the Motor City Machine Guns another dream match to tick off.
