Claudio Castagnoli Discusses How The Death Riders Group Chat Keeps Him Motivated

Claudio Castagnoli admits that the Death Riders group chat is all about training.

The Death Riders have been arguably the most important faction in AEW history since their formation in 2024. They have held numerous titles; Jon Moxley was the world champ for almost a year after they came together, and even now, they’re a group that appears pretty much every week and influences multiple storylines. Now, one of their members has pulled back the curtain on what their group chat is like.

Talking with Sky Sports, Claudio Castagnoli revealed how the Death Riders often share video clips of moves and discuss training techniques in their group chat.

“In the Death Riders group chat, there’s always a lot of moves and holds and stuff like that. Video clips and stuff, or training techniques, or whatever. It keeps you on your toes because every time I want to be lazy, I’m like ‘Okay, I’ve got to go work out.’”

This backs up the on-screen traits of the faction, where they’re often shown training to improve, get better, and never let an opportunity pass them by. This was a key element in the Will Ospreay storyline that progressed over the last few months, where Will Ospreay was being trained to push through the Death Ground on his way to the AEW World Title, which he’ll fight for at AEW All In: London later this month.

As for Jon Moxley, he’ll be using the group chat’s methods for himself soon, as tonight starts the Continental Challenge Cup. This tournament will go all the way up to Wembley, prior to which he’ll have to face numerous opponents just to keep hold of the belt he won at the Continental Classic last December.
