Dax Harwood Names The Only Arena He Was Ever Truly Excited To Wrestle In

AEW’s Dax Harwood doesn’t put stock in wrestling at “dream venues”.
Recently, several AEW wrestlers have spoken about wrestling in Arena México as a “dream” for them, including Adam Copeland, Bandido, and even Chris Jericho. and Chris Jericho. Copeland also noted on social media that one of his remaining “dream venues” is the Tokyo Dome.
However, Dax Harwood, one half of FTR, does not view his career in quite the same way. Speaking with Cromulent George, Harwood revealed that there has only been one place in his career where he was truly excited to wrestle.
“I’ve never looked into arenas or stadiums and thought, ‘Oh, I can’t believe I’m at this stadium or I’m at this arena.’ The only time I ever did that was whenever it was myself and Cash and MJF against Sting and Darby and CM Punk in Greensboro. Only because I’d been to Greensboro to watch wrestling, and here I was with Sting. A guy I’d watched in that coliseum. That’s the only time that I’ve ever thought about it. Crystal Palace is just as important to me as Madison Square Garden. I’m not trying to throw shade, or I’m not trying to seem like I’m above. For me, it’s about the moments. For me, it’s about the matches. For me, it’s about the fans and what they will bring to us. I’m one of the very, very few wrestlers that have done the Tokyo Dome, Arena Mexico, MSG, and Wembley Stadium. And again, that isn’t something that I will put on my wall with the Tag Team Championships and the matches. That means nothing to me.”
-Dax Harwood
At first, Harwood’s perspective may seem unusual, particularly given how often both established stars and newcomers speak about venues they have always wanted to wrestle in. Adam Copeland and Christian Cage, for example, are preparing to team together for the first time at Wembley Stadium. However, Harwood’s comments offer insight into how he views his wrestling career and the significance he places on where he performs.
It’s not that Harwood views these venues negatively. Rather, he recognises that even a legendary building can host a bad match, while a crowd may not always be invested or involved regardless of the venue. His point is that it is on him, Cash, and their opponents to make each venue memorable by putting on the best match possible.
Ahead of AEW All In: London, FTR are set to make their way to OVO Arena Wembley for RevPro’s 14th Anniversary Show on August 29, where they were initially scheduled to take on Young Guns but will now instead face Cowboy Way for the Undisputed British Tag Team Titles.
