Bandido Discusses The Importance Of Wrestling In Arena Mexico
Bandido feels that wrestling in Arena Mexico is incredibly important for luchadores.
As the current ROH World Champion, Bandido is a key part of both AEW and ROH at present. Through collaborations with CMLL, he has wrestled with all three promotions in numerous locations, including most recently in Arena Mexico itself. Bandido’s time the venue has been incredibly fruitful, especially given that at Grand Slam: Mexico, he won the AEW World Trios Titles alongside Brody King and Hangman Adam Page, much to the joy of the 16,000+ fans in attendance.
While in Mexico City last week for Grand Slam: Mexico, Bandido sat down with Renee Paquette for the latest episode of her Close Up series, and she asked about what it truly meant to wrestle in the “Cathedral of Lucha Libre”.
“Arena México is like, for a wrestler, an achievement to be here. If you have a match here, you can say you are a real luchador. There are some places in the world… when you are in Japan, Korakuen Hall, Tokyo Dome. When you’re in the states, Madison Square Garden. It’s the same feeling to be here in Arena México.”

While we don’t yet know what lies in store for Bandido later this month “The Most Wanted” will also likely perform in another key venue for wrestling soon, as All In: London comes back to Wembley Stadium later this month.
