Since he signed with the company in 2022, Nick Wayne making waves in AEW, coming in before he’d even turned 18. Following his alignment with Christian Cage as part of The Patriarchy, Wayne made frequent appearances on both AEW and ROH TV, becoming the longest reigning and youngest ROH Television Champion. Since losing the title, Wayne has continued to work in ROH, challenging for the ROH World Champion as this past Friday’s Death Before Dishonor. Despite falling short against Bandido, Wayne clearly impressed Tony Khan, who spoke glowingly about working with the 21-year old.

Speaking at the ROH Death Before Dishonor post-show media scrum, Khan discussed just how brilliant he thinks Nick Wayne is:

“Nick [Wayne] is in my opinion truly a prodigy. He’s a very special talent. Darby Allin is the person who first put me on to Nick, and every person who’s worked with Nick and mentored Nick has always shared the belief that this is such a special young talent. And he keeps getting better and better. He’s so young and truly a prodigious talent. I love working with him. Veterans of decades in the sport of wrestling are blown away by Nick’s wrestling intellect… I’m very proud of what he’s been able to accomplish in AEW and ROH.”
