Can-Am Dojo Rebranded As Maple Leaf Pro Academy

Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling has announced that the famous Can-Am Dojo will now become the Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling Academy.

Opened in 1993 by Scott D’Amore and Mickey Doyle, the Can-Am Dojo has been foundational to the careers of stars like Bobby Roode, Chris Sabin, Eric Young. Based in Windsor, Ontario, the training facility has been key to the Canadian wrestling scene, and one of the country’s hottest promotions have now taken it as their own.

According to a new press release, Maple Leaf Pro announced the wrestling school will now be the MLP Academy, with Josh Alexander as the head coach.

“The MLP Academy will be led by Head Coach Josh Alexander, current AEW Superstar and one of the most accomplished wrestlers of his generation. He will be joined by former TNA President and current MLP President Scott D’Amore, who will serve as MLP Academy General Manager. Together, they bring an unmatched combination of in-ring excellence, experience, and leadership to the next generation of wrestling talent.”

MLP has also stated that students can partake in sessions covering different components of wrestling such as, “in-ring technique, promo skills, character development, brand building, etiquette, and professional conduct”. At this time, registration is not open but further details will be available in the near future.

This is yet another major success for MLP during a year that has already seen the company launch a new TV deal in July and announce a match between Steve Maclin and AEW’s Adam Copeland.
