Thekla Discusses Not Wrestling At AEW All In, Says She Was Touched By Fan Response

Thekla laments not being at Wembley for All In, but understands that it did serve a purpose.

AEW All In has become the most biggest event on the company’s calendar since it entered the yearly cycle in 2023. With three trips to Wembley Stadium and one to Globe Life Field behind them, performing at All In usually means a wrestler gets to show their skill on a big stage, and it can be disappointing for fans to see some talent miss out. For Thekla, many were hoping she’d be involved with the AEW Women’s World Title at All In: London, whether in a singles match with Mercedes Moné or a three-way including Willow Nightingale. But, after she lost her title to “The Babe With The Power” at Redemption, her only Wembley appearance was a promo on the Buy In.

Talking with the New York Post, she revealed that, while upset about it, she doesn’t want to be greedy, and was almost happy to see fan outrage that she wasn’t involved in a match.

“It was, again, about being a pro, you got to just take things the way they are. Be cool with whatever happens, and I try to get into a mindset where I didn’t wanna be greedy anyways because I’ve had a tremendous 2026. And a great 2025, too. Some part of me was obviously upset because it’s f*cking Wembley and it’s in front of almost 50,000 people in Europe, which I haven’t even remotely done. It would have been, obviously, the biggest gig of my life so far. Also, I like that I’m still on the chase. I don’t like having anything in front of me that I got to follow up on. You also got to make them miss you. I was happy and almost touched to see that people were outraged that I wasn’t on the show. It’s actually better that way.”

It’s fair to say that Thekla had had an incredibly strong year before All In: London 2026, joining the company in May 2025 and winning the world championship nine months later. Plus, with many feeling like should’ve been on the show in some capacity, “The Toxic Spider” could’ve continued her war with STARDOM by taking on a member of their roster on the show if the promotion didn’t want to have her vie for the top title at the event.

Tonight, Thekla will be at AEW All Out, taking on Willow Nightingale in a rematch from the Redemption pay-per-view. This time, though, the winner will go on to face Women’s World Champion Mercedes Moné at WrestleDream.

However, Tony Khan himself recently confirmed plans would’ve been different had Moné been cleared to wrestle on tonight’s show. You can read more about that here.
