Many Within AEW Reportedly Support Idea To Bring In Sheamus As He Enters Free Agency

All Elite Wrestling has people pushing internally for Sheamus to join the locker room.

While AEW is recovering from the loss of one of their own, their eyes are still looking toward the future, not least of which is their being in Paris next week for a Grand Slam event. However, free agency also beckons, as certain big-name talents are still on the board, including the man known as Sheamus. He departed WWE earlier this year and has officially entered free agency.

According to WrestleVotes via Fightful Select, it’s believed some in AEW are pushing for Sheamus to be brought in.

“Also, we have some clarity on Sheamus, as he approaches free agency. With the reported October 1st date now upon us, we asked an AEW source about the company’s feelings towards bringing Sheamus in. While we’ve learned that there is expected to be interest from AEW, we’ve also heard of some support for the idea within the locker room, with a source telling us that a handful of AEW talent are in favor of Sheamus joining the company.”

Naturally, given his tenure and success in WWE, many in the AEW locker room will have worked with Sheamus before, while those who haven’t will have watched him perform at a high level for decades while wanting their chance to mix it up with “The Celtic Warrior”. Plus, there are a variety of ways in which he could enter the fold.

Some are of the mindset that he could join the AEW version of United Empire alongside Will Ospreay. Others want him to reteam with Claudio Castagnoli, possibly as part of the Death Riders. After months of speculation, though, his free agency means his next step, wherever that may be, could come at any time.
