The Jersey Championship Wrestling World Championship has a new holder.

Gabby Forza made history on Sunday night after she defeated Charles Mason to become the third woman and the fifth wrestler to hold the Jersey Championship Wrestling World Championship.

This took place in the main event of JCW’s Nightmare in Bergen County event over at The Mecca in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey. Forza was given the nearly impossible task to beat Charles Mason, who entered the matchup having held the belt for 254 days and defended the belt eight times, including against Marcus Mathers, Amazing Red, Cheeseburger, and Gabby Forza’s husband Bear Bronson.

Forza hit Mason with a devastating Fire Thunder Driver to wrestle Mason’s grip from both the championship and the promotion as whole. Mason initially defeated Billie Starkz for the belt during the Jersey J-Cup earlier this year after practically tormenting her during her entire reign.

Nightmare in Bergen County was jam packed with seven high octane matches preceding this massively consequential main event title switch:

  • Terry Yaki defeated Leo Sparrow
  • Kylie Alexa (NWA) defeated Sloane Jacobs (WWE ID)
  • Marcus Mathers defeated Mike Skyros
  • Bear Bronson vs. Conor Claxton ended in a no-contest
  • Juno Underwood defeated Ryan O’Neill
  • Jermaine Marbury defeated SLADE via DQ
  • Controlled Kaos (Kid Chaos & Papa Jucie) won the Tag Team Turmoil match

JCW is scheduled to have at least one more show this year on November 29th from The Mecca.

Speaking of JCW, the location of next year’s Jersey J-Cup, a tournament held together with GCW, was revealed recently. You can read more about that here.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Gabby Forza as soon as we hear more.
