WWE Reportedly Not Planning Las Vegas As A Backup Location For WrestleMania 43

A rumored backup location for WrestleMania 43 has reportedly been debunked.

Given the recent events in the Riyadh area of Saudi Arabia and the overall secrecy of WrestleMania 43’s date, many have started to wonder if the event will go forward as planned. If not, the question becomes where WWE will host their biggest show of the year, with many possible locations available to them if they need a backup option. One such pivot is Las Vegas, a city that’s become extremely familiar with hosting “The Show Of Shows” in recent years. However, that now appears to be off the table.

According to a new update from Fightful Select, it’s believe WWE aren’t considering The Sphere in Las Vegas as a backup plan for WrestleMania 43.

“There is no indication that WWE is planning to use The Sphere in Las Vegas as a backup WrestleMania venue, despite recent speculation. The venue has John Mayer performances scheduled during the internally targeted April 10–11 dates, as well as at the end of the month. Oprah Winfrey is also there April 2-4.”

The company has travelled to Las Vegas for its last two iterations of WrestleMania, though it saw diminishing returns the second year, something which can come naturally when running the same location too close together. As such, while the city has become accustomed to hosting WWE’s biggest show, it being unavailable to them as a backup could help them to not exhaust the market any further.

Regardless of where the company line up as a backup plan to host WrestleMania 43, recent events would suggest it would take something drastic to move the show. This is reflected in the company’s commitment to travel to Saudi Arabia for the upcoming Crown Jewel event despite the US Government urging “extreme caution” when using the airports in Saudi Arabia.
