Backstage at a recent AEW Dynamite, another conflict took place, this time involving Ric Flair’s son in law Andrade El Idolk and former TNT champion Sammy Guevara.
Reports stated that Andrade threw punches during the altercation and was summarily sent home, whereas Sammy Guevara was allowed to stay for the remainder of show and went on to fulfil his duties, picking up the pin in the main event.
Ric Flair took some time to speak on his To Be The Man podcast and gave his earnest opinion on the situation between Andrade and Sammy Guevara.
“I’m family in that deal. I’ve only met Guevara one time, or twice, he was very nice to me. Pretty much how I judge people, but you don’t want to be rocking and rolling with Manny [Andrade]. I’ve been to Manny’s home, I know how he grew up. You know Sin Cara? Manny is Sin Cara. Sin Cara has beat up half the guys in the business. Manny is a very tough man. I think they feel pretty comfortable, some of the guys saying things when they know the fight is never going to get anywhere or it gets broken up and there are 1,000 people involved. Ultimately, nobody ever gets their ass whipped, but I feel comfortable in saying that wouldn’t be much of a fight. Nothing against Sammy as a wrestler, I just think Manny is a tough guy. There are not a lot of tough guys in the business anymore,”

Sin Cara whom has wrestled under several different names such as Cinta de Oro, and Hunico, was involved in multiple backstage brawls with other members of wrestling rosters at various points in time including, Chris Jericho and Sheamus.
Andrade’s return date to AEW television is unclear, the mask versus career match between Preston Vance and Andrade had been canned shortly after word of the altercation came to light. Sammy Guevara recently took time to shed light some light, stating that he refused to focus on the negative aspects of the situation.
