All Elite Wrestling is set to honor one of its own via an AEW Dynamite special on September 9.

It was revealed earlier in March that Tanea Brooks, AKA Rebel, who had a short but memorable tenure on AEW working alongside Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D, had been diagnosed with ALS. Since then, multiple wrestlers across both All Elite Wrestling and beyond have shown support, particularly bringing back the Ice Bucket Challenge to raise money and awareness for ALS in Rebel’s name. Plus, AEW have also made special “Rebel Heart” gear for fans to buy, with all proceeds going to I AM ALS and Team Gleason. Now, it seems the company are planning an entire show in Rebel’s honor.

According to an announcement first made by AEW on X, a special “Rebel Heart” AEW Dynamite is set to happen in September.

To provide further information, AEW made a special webpage for the event, breaking down Rebel’s story and the importance of the event itself:

“This September, AEW is dedicating a night to raising awareness for ALS. AEW: Rebel Heart Dynamite airs live from Akins Ford Arena in Athens on September 9th, honoring Tanea Brooks, known to fans as Rebel. A donation will be made from the event to benefit I AM ALS and Team Gleason, two leading organizations in the fight against ALS.”

The site also provides links to where you can donate to these two charities right now. While it’s impossible to know what the card for that AEW Dynamite will be like, All Elite Wrestling is known to go all out to show support for charities they love, and since the love for Rebel is universal, one can expect them to go truly big.
