AEW reportedly moved back plans to announce Mercedes Mone’s debut.

The future of Mercedes Mone has been a popular topic of discussion over the last few weeks and months. The star has needed to recover from an ankle injury sustained at NJPW Strong’s Resurgence show last May, and anticipation is high as fans wonder where she will show up next. Reportedly, AEW is the most likely landing spot for Mone, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet.

To comment on this, Dave Meltzer has written in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that AEW had plans to tease or even announce Mercedes’ arrival this past weekend that have now been moved given the magnitude of news that has come out in recent times.

“The plan is to make a big deal out of Mercedes Monè’s AEW debut. At one point the plan was to announce it this past weekend, or at least tease it, but it was moved back. The reason given was not wanting to announce it this week given all the far bigger news that came out and that people wouldn’t be focusing on it.”

With the report noting that the original plan could’ve seen the first hints of Mercedes’ arrival this past weekend, it will be interesting to see whether or not the company decide to push forward with any teases of her debut in the coming weeks.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Mercedes Mone and her possible AEW debut as soon as we hear more.
