AEW currently find themselves suffering through somewhat of an injury crisis, as a number of top stars including CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, and Kenny Omega are all absent from in-ring action.

Another unfortunate addition to that list came at the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door event, as Adam Cole, who is also currently dealing with a torn labrum (shoulder), suffered a concussion.

Speaking on the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that we shouldn’t expect to see Cole back in action any time soon.

“Adam Cole’s gonna be out for a while. Punk – I don’t know when the timeframe is and I think that they’re trying not to let you know, but I’m pretty sure he’ll be back… surgery for a broken foot, it’s a couple of months, but it’s not like it’s six months. So he probably won’t be that long.”

Whilst a torn labrum typically takes between 4-6 weeks to recover from, a concussion is often harder to gauge, due to the nature of the injury often varying from person to person.

As always, we wish Adam Cole the best in his recovery, and look forward to seeing him back in the ring when he is cleared to do so.
