AEW’s Bryan Danielson has now been out of action for over a month now, with the Blackpool Combat Club member being forced to miss Forbidden Door and Blood and Guts due to suffering a concussion.

Danielson, who was famously forced into an early retirement in 2016 whilst performing as Daniel Bryan, has a history of head injuries, and whilst speaking on the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted this injury history as a reason for him being “very concerned” by Danielson’s current injury status.

“I’m very concerned with Danielson obviously, because when you have the number of concussions he’s had, and he’s been out now for five weeks. You start worrying at five weeks of a concussion – this may be a real bad situation. I know in real life and everything like that he’s fine, he can function, he can do everything, but as far as being cleared to wrestle, I don’t know anything, no-one knows – getting cleared from a concussion can be any time. There’s no timeframe. But the fact that it’s been this long is very concerning.”

-Dave Meltzer

As always, we wish Danielson the best in his recovery, and we hope to see him back in the ring as soon as he is cleared to do so.
