AJ Styles Reveals He Helped Produce Kendal Grey vs. Lola Vice NXT Underground Match

AJ Styles helped produce this week’s NXT Women’s Championship match.
On the August 4 edition of WWE NXT, Kendal Grey met Lola Vice in an Underground match to close the show. The clash was their third singles meeting of 2026, with the first ring a number one contender’s match and the second being their title match in which Grey won the gold at The Great American Bash. With many having enjoyed the final chapter of their trilogy, we now know more on how it all came together.
Talking on the latest edition of the AJ Styles Show, “The Phenomenal One” discussed being one of two producers for the match.
“There were two of us. Two producers in that match. [Johnny] Moss and myself. There’s not much you need to do in a match like this because these girls are so good. But if you watch it, there are some sprinkles of AJ Styles in there that you’ll go, ‘Oh, yeah. That makes sense.’ But the truth is Moss and I didn’t have to do very much because they are so good at what they do… just the way they do certain things is just unbelievable. This match that they had, whoever came up with it and put them in it, perfect. They’re so good.”

With Grey coming away with the win, the match acted as somewhat of a sendoff for Lola, with the former champion believed to be heading to the main roster in the near future. Last month, Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline indicated that Vice is likely set for a move to Friday Night SmackDown, and it now seems that may not be too far away.
Speaking of the blue brand, Styles also touched on Giulia’s shocking two-minute loss to Lash Legend on a recent episode of SmackDown, urging fans to be patient with the trajectory of the former World of Stardom Champion. You can read more about that here.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on AJ Styles’ recent experience as a WWE producer as soon as we hear more.
