AJ Styles Urges Fans To “Give It A Second” After Giulia’s Two-Minute Loss To Lash Legend On SmackDown

AJ Styles has urged WWE fans to be patient after Giulia’s quick loss on SmackDown.

On the July 31 SmackDown, Lash Legend met Giulia in the final qualifier for the Interim Women’s Championship ladder match at SummerSlam. While both were strong options to be added to the Premium Live Event’s lineup, fans were stunned when the former World of Stardom Champion lost to Legend in two minutes. After many viewers were left frustrated, AJ Styles has added his two cents on the surprising loss.

Speaking on the latest edition of the AJ Styles Show, “The Phenomenal One” suggested fans see where things go before getting angry about the match.

“There may be the story there that we’re doing based on the match that happened. Just because the match happened doesn’t mean we can’t go back to it and have a story. Maybe this is the start of a story for Giulia going back and winning that match. I’m not so sure, but before we get pissed off about what’s going on with Giulia, let’s see where it goes. Just give it a second.”

However, frustration over Giulia’s trajectory is nothing new when it comes to her main roster run. Despite being a two-time former Women’s United States Champion, the Japanese star has struggled to build series momentum since arriving on the blue brand. In fact, outside of the Royal Rumble, she’s yet to appear on a Premium Live Event.

Still, Giulia’s expletive social media post following her loss suggests this may be the catalyst for her character to take a more intense approach going forward. For now, though, how WWE follows up on her quick loss last week remains to be seen.
