With WWE set to present their annual Money in the Bank premium live event this Sunday from the MGM Grand Garden Arena, many have questioned whether former Smackdown Women’s Champion Bayley will be making her return to the company at the show, having been absent from in-ring action since July of last year with a torn ACL.
A new report from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has now indicated that Bayley may be returning sooner rather than later. Whilst Meltzer opted not to provide a specific time frame for Bayley’s return, he noted that it would be “somewhat soon”.
As of writing, the men’s MITB ladder match is set to feature 8 Superstars, with just one spot left to be determined, whereas the women’s MITB ladder match is currently advertised as having only 7 competitors. Whether or not a last minute change, either on tonight’s Smackdown or on the show itself, takes place is yet to be seen, although should another slot present itself, Bayley is sure to be high on the list of potential participants.
We look forward to seeing what the future holds for Bayley upon her return to WWE, with her reign as Smackdown Women’s Champion undoubtably serving as one of the highlights of the Pandemic Era.
