Since departing WWE at the expiration of his contract on February 24th earlier this year, the former Cesaro is yet to re-emerge at either signings or in an in-ring capacity.
Rumours are now beginning to emerge,: however, that Claudio Castagnoli may be AEW-bound, with Bryan Danielson revealing that a debuting star will take on Zack Sabre Jr at Forbidden Door this Sunday, with the talent in question becoming the newest member of the Blackpool Combat Club.
Whilst there is yet to be any confirmation that the mystery star in question is indeed Castagnoli, Fightful Select have provided an interesting update that may point towards an imminent return for the Swiss Superman.
“Fightful can confirm that he’s been at Flatbacks in Orlando multiple times over the last several weeks, training in the ring. We haven’t heard an update on if he’ll actually be the replacement this week, but he has been working in the ring again.”

Following on from Forbidden Door, the debuting star is set to make their Dynamite debut as part of the upcoming Blood and Guts match, where he will team with Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, Eddie Kingston, Proud & Powerful against the Jericho Appreciation Society.
