Sasha Banks and Naomi have been absent from WWE since they walked out during a live episode of Raw on May 16. Former multiple time world champion, Charlotte Flair has now been asked about the situation.
The in-ring careers of both Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair have always been intertwined. They came through NXT together and became known as ‘The Four Horsewomen’ alongside Becky Lynch and Bayley. The year of 2016 in WWE was defined by a string of exceptional matches between the two and an argument can be made that they are each other’s greatest rival.
Charlotte Flair herself has recently had a spell away from WWE as she recently got married to Andrade El Idolo of AEW. Flair hasn’t been seen in a WWE ring since she lost the SmackDown Women’s Championship to Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania Backlash. Though, she appeared on Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Sessions and was asked what she made of Banks and Naomi walking out of WWE during a live show:
“One, I haven’t been there, because I left after (WrestleMania) Backlash. I know what it’s like to jump on social media and read these headlines that are so far from the truth. I don’t know what happened. What I can say is, I can’t imagine never wrestling Sasha again. That would be hard for me to compartmentalize. We started together. She’s my Ricky Steamboat, my dad always tells her that. With Trin [Naomi], we just had a hell of a match on SmackDown and I’m like, ‘Oh, there is unfinished business there’ because of circumstances and storylines and whatever, we just, ‘here, you two wrestle.’ For me, I just can’t imagine not working with them. In terms of what they’re going through, it’s not my place to speak on behalf of the company or them because I’m not there right now,”

The comparison to Ric Flair’s rivalry with Ricky Steamboat heaps praise onto Banks. Many fans associate Flair with Banks, so it would definitely be a shame if they never got to wrestle each other again. Banks and Naomi have been rumoured to be returning to WWE soon but their future remains unclear but fans will be interested to see what happens next.
