During the Blood and Guts match on a recent episode of AEW Dynamite between The JAS and The Blackpool Combat Club, Santana suffered a freak knee injury whilst trying to perform a Rock Bottom.
The Blackpool Combat Club was eventually victorious on the night, thanks to the newest member of The BCC, Claudio Castagnoli. However, Santana’s injury kept him out of action for most of the match.
Chris Jericho was recently a guest on the “True Gordie Podcast”, where the former Le Champion provided insight and an update on Santana’s predicted time out of action.
“He fucked up his knee from doing a simple Rock Bottom,” Jericho said. “That’s not on top of a cage, that’s not falling off a cage, that’s not getting hit with a barbed wire bat, or whatever. It’s doing a wrestling move, and he’s out eight months.”

The annual Blood and Guts match took place on the June 29th episode of AEW Dynamite and saw The JAS members, Chris Jericho, Daniel Garcia, Jake Hager, Daddy Magic Matt Menard, Sammy Guevara, and Cool Hand Angelo Parker take on The BCC and PnP who’s ranks consisted of Jon Moxley, Eddie Kingston, Wheeler Yuta, Claudio Castagnoli, Ortiz, and Santana, who after mere moments in the match ended up injuring his knee while trying to perform a uranage. The freak accident saw Santana barely involved in the remainder of the match, he was eventually assisted out of the cage early, therefor he was unable to join his eventually victorious team atop the cage.
The former LAX members, Santana and Ortiz arrived in AEW at All Out in 2019 to beat down The Young Bucks and The Lucha Bros after their respective ladder match where The Lucha obtained the AAA Tag Team Championships.
PnP has yet to taste championship gold in All Elite Wrestling, however tag team success seems to follow them wherever they go. If wrestling legend Konnan is to believed, the tag team is suffering from a frayed relationship
