A huge match has been announced for PRODUIT Part Deux.

The legendary Daisuke Sekimoto is set to have Jonathan Gresham in a singles match for PRODUCE’s upcoming “PRODUIT Part Deux” event which is slated to take place on December 18 from the IWS L’Enfer in Montreal.

This matchup will be one of a pair of main event clashes for the first of two PRODUCE shows in Montreal, with the other pitting Japanese indie darling, Fuminori Abe, taking on former Battlarts mainstay, Karl Greco-Malenko, in a battle between two men who fully encapsulate the “Batti-Batti” wrestling style.

In a world where many people throw out that any given match is a “dream match”, it feels as if both of these matches set to take place back to back on December 18 fully fit that moniker. For longtime fans of Japanese wrestling outside of NJPW in the 2000s to today, Daisuke Sekimoto’s legend needs no introduction. The 45-year-old made his legend in Big Japan Pro Wrestling as the promotion’s longtime ace, having had five world title reigns for a combined 747 days. Additionally, he also co-held BJW’s tag belts a whopping 13 times for a combined 2345 days, which is nearly six and a half years.

Outside of his accolades, however, it’s his almost peerless work in the ring that makes him a dream match magnet. You could probably count the number of male wrestlers in Japan who’ve meant more to the scene than Sekimoto since the 2010s on one hand. So to have him come on over to Canada to wrestle another absolute wrestling machine in Jonathan Gresham has had a lot of fans immediately excited for this event.

With the other main event clash, Abe vs. Greco-Malenko, this match could also be viewed as a dream match for a very specific kind of fan, the Battlarts sicko. For anyone who enjoys wrestling that is nearly incomprehensible to a real life 90s era MMA fight, like something you’d see in Pancrase or a modern Minoru Suzuki or Yoshihiro Takeyama match, this bout is a must watch!

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on PRODUCE’s PRODUIT Part Deux as soon as we hear more.
