On April 2nd of last year, Universal Champion Roman Reigns defeated WWE Champion Brock Lesnar in the main event of WrestleMania 38 Night 2, officially crowing Reigns as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. Reigns has reigned supreme with both titles ever since, with his next defence currently set for Elimination Chamber on February 18th against his former Bloodline stablemate Sami Zayn, although many have long been wondering if the company ever plan on separating the titles once again.
One top WWE Superstar seemingly hoping for that to be the case is the former WWE Champion, Drew McIntyre. McIntyre recently spoke to Scott Fishman of Pro Wrestling Illustrated, where he revealed that he’s still chasing his crowning moment in front of a the fans, as well as noting that he believes the company should look to separate the top two titles again soon.
“I wanna get a title in front of live fans. I had it for 300 days with nobody there. Obviously Clash [at the Castle] would have been an awesome moment if I was able to pull it off. Roman’s on this run of a lifetime right now. Curious to see where that goes. Ideally we’ll get those titles separated back on their respective shows and back on the live events and all over. But can’t deny what Roman’s done with them and how he’s representing [WWE] as champion.”

Should Reigns emerge victorious from his upcoming battle with former Honorary Uce Sami Zayn, he’ll be set to face Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes in the main event of WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles, California.
As of writing, there has been no indication that WWE are looking to separate the titles anytime soon, however as always, we’ll aim to provide any updates on the likelihood of that happening as soon as we hear more.
